CHALLENGE
S/4 HANA has been successfully established. Now it is time to use the full potential of the technology for the financial reporting of the rapidly growing e-commerce platform. To do this, it is not just a matter of smoothly transferring the existing reports into the new system. The goal is to use embedded analytics to quickly and easily provide targeted insights into the figures, so that reporting can contribute even more to the efficient management of the operative business.

APPROACH

Which insights and reports are needed, where is simplification necessary, what needs to be customised? In order to clarify this, DMA conducts Show & Tell workshops with a total of eleven accounting and controlling teams. The analysis of the status quo is followed by the design of a target architecture that also integrates Amazon S3/Redshift as a Big Data solution. In addition to activating the standard reports, DMA also takes over the implementation of customer-specific extensions: This makes it possible to evaluate previously highly standardised data even more individually and, for example, to gain insights into additional dimensions with ABAP CDS views.
